The lamp posts are a part of the ambiance that sets Walnut Street
apart from other historic districts. They were the first project to be
undertaken by the neighborhood and were paid for by the residents. Not
only do they provide a warm atmosphere for an evening stroll, they also
provide an extra layer of security for the neighborhood. They are
positioned on private property and each resident is responsible for the
cost and upkeep. |
| The plaque is the official marker designated by the Florence
Historical Commission to be used on homes that have been placed on the
National Register of Historic Places. The information contained on each
plaque is the name of the home and the year it was built. |
